Just over a century ago in 1906, an American philosopher William James said that the mankind needs to create a ‘Moral Equivalent to War’. The great philosopher tries to see the sights of the problem, as to how to sustain political unison and civic virtue in the absence of war or any other threat. He meant of a creation which could augment, and explore a person’s three qualities during peaceful times: Self-Discipline, Hardiness & Self-Sacrifice. It won’t be wrong if we say that sports nowadays performs that role.
