For a young lawyer practising before the Supreme Court, an Advocate on Record (AOR) is a prestigious tag, that comes along with the privilege to file an appearance and act on behalf of a party before the Supreme Court.
As per Chapter Supreme Court Rules, 2013 only an Advocate on Record (AOR) shall for a party appear, plead and address the court in a matter. Although on instructions from an AOR an advocate other than AOR can address the court.
