The Consumer Protection Act, 1986 was brought to provide better and speedy remedy to the consumer.
The Act has implications in many of the activities of the consumer. By and large, the subject went on becoming complicated.
Catena of case laws came to us through judicial pronouncement. There is hardly any book on the subject which could explain the intricacies of the provisions.
To promote the cause of better service to the consumers, the Parliament has passed a new Act, The Consumer Protection Act, 2019 (Act No. 35 of 2019).
